This week we met with Pippa Richardson, the owner of the The Head Shed, a boutique meeting/ training venue located in Wiltshire. Driving through the Wiltshire countryside at the start of the Cotswolds to The Head Shed, you can’t help but already feel inspired. Pippa set up The Head Shed just under a year ago and continues to host a variety of businesses looking for a high specification venue set within peaceful surroundings – the site is set in an acre of gardens surrounded by fields and working farmland.

So what inspired you to set up The Head Shed?
My husband and I purchased the property 4 years ago. Having disused farm buildings in a fabulous setting was a great opportunity to think about something different by way of a development project. Having operated as a HRD for over 20 years in FTSE organisations I wanted to take a step out of corporate life and do something that would allow me to work from home more. I find the venue and the surrounding area a great space to think and get inspired. I wanted to develop it to be able to share that with others and allow people to get away from the distractions and bustle of their offices to come and get clarity of thinking, be well looked after and benefit from the calm and picturesque setting.

Tell us what your space has to offer?
The converted barn is finished to a high specification with a 65 inch TV, an onsite kitchen and WC facilities. There is ample free parking for at least 15 cars with additional free on street parking just outside the site. Here you can have exclusive use of the space, which is perfect for those that are looking for a more confidential, secure and personal environment.

Where is The Head Shed located?
In Wiltshire, 15- 20 minutes off Junction 17 of the M4, which is easily accessible from a variety of locations including Bath (26 mins), Bristol (45 mins), Chippenham (15 minutes) and Swindon (39 mins).

What is the set up?
The Head Shed is a converted farm building that has space for up to 12 seated delegates in a conference style layout. The room dimensions are 4.5m by 6m. There is also the option to have your meeting in a more informal setting for smaller one to one coaching, counselling and mentoring sessions as there are 2 easy chairs provided in the facility.

What are your unique selling points?
There are quite a few! We like to offer our customers a personal and unique experience where they can be treated like friends and family. You aren’t limited to a hotel timetable in order to get a hot tea and coffee – we provide flexible ‘5’ Environmental Health rated catering and refreshment options to suit your needs. We have a dedicated garden area at the rear of the building which is allocated for the use of visitors using The Head Shed. At just under ¼ of an acre it is a lawned area with a variety of trees and shrubs including a patio area. Many customers have incorporated the gardens into their team building activities. There is also the option of hiring a 2 double bedroomed beautiful cottage on the site for overnight stays.

• Full Day (8:00 – 18:00) from £157
• Half Day (AM or PM) from £87
• Evening (18:00 – 22:00) from £47

What businesses are attracted to using your space?
Various business from Solicitors, Trainers, Coaches, Networking Groups and Digital Marketing Companies regularly use the space and continue to rate it highly as a place to escape, inspire and focus the mind.

How about accommodation?
There is the added benefit of hiring The Bothy; a self contained, fully equipped 2 double bedroom cottage situated in the grounds of the Farm.

What else is on offer nearby?
There are some fabulous places to eat and drink nearby including The Toast Office a village shop with post office that also operates as a tea room as well as the The Pear Tree Inn that offers further boutique overnight accommodation. Both are a 5 minute walk from the site.
